Introduction to Identifying Prohibited Breeds E002
This course is available only to those with a legitimate reason to learn about how the law is applied and how to use the Government guidance.
The course has video, photos, discussion and real life experience of gathering evidence, examining, measuring and evaluating dogs to form your personal opinion.
There is no training that qualifies someone to identify banned breed types. It is a subjective, personal decision whether a dog has enough characteristics or not.
What does "type" mean?
How many characteristics of a banned breed type does a dog need to be said to be one?
What is the best way to measure a dog's height and length?
How are decisions challenged?
What can be done if a stray or abandoned dog is a banned breed?

This course is 2 days training, delivered a month apart. It is done in a classroom, ideally with access to real dogs. Video and photo examples are used, general law points explained.
Between the first and second day's training, candidates need to evaluate a few real dogs, producing photos and written notes on their decision making to bring the the second training day.
