Safety in Vet Practices Level 1 G005

Vet practices are places of stress, risk and amazing work.  Both owners and pets can be worried, in pain, afraid or unsure and this can all be better managed.

From policies and pre-attendance rules to on site management and training, this course could make your workplace safer for staff and animals.

Whilst aimed mainly at practices handling dogs, there is info on cat safety as well.

A pre course exercise must be completed prior to the classroom or zoom attendance.

Attendance Policies

Issue rules and guidance prior to attendance.

Display posters that back up your staff and remind owners how to behave whilst waiting.

Preparation

Use of protective equipment, staff guidance. Dog body language reading.

Safety and Protection

Recognising stress, using your own body language to affect behaviour, tips on approaching worried  animals.

This course is usually delivered via Zoom in one or two days depending on your daytime available hours.  There is a pre course exercise also and the course is accredited for 10 CPD points.
